Between 2017 and 2019 a commission chaired by Lord Thomas of Cwmgiedd, formerly the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, carried out a review of the justice system in Wales of unparalleled breadth and depth, the report of the Commission, the research conducted in connection with its work and the representations received, form a body of information of lasting importance to the study of justice in Wales. Law Society Royal National Eisteddfod of Wales Robin ap Cynan Memorial Lecture Series
Since 1998 the Law Society Wales Office has sponsored an annual lecture at the National Eisteddfod of Wales by a leading member of the Welsh legal community.
In 2016 the lectures were renamed in memory of Robin ap Cynan (1959-2015), the first chair of the Wales Committee of the Law Society and member of the Council of the Law Society of England and Wales.
